About Crypt
"I cannot wait for more people to try this game.
As intoxicating and intricate as playing with the OG Magic sets, with tons of mid 1970s fantasy charm." -catt

FAQs
What is this game?
Crypt is the world's first collectible trading board game with hex tiles and cards of different rarities used to build decks and battle.
How do I start playing?
Begin by collecting tiles and cards, then create your deck and challenge opponents.
Each player needs:
1 Starter Pack
1+ Hex Booster
3-4+ Booster Packs (25 cards minimum, 9 per booster)
2+ six-sided dice (2D6)
Note: Dice are not sold in our store.
Please visit your local game store and tell them about Crypt!
Can I trade hexes and cards with friends?
Absolutely! Trading is a key part of the game, letting you customize your deck and strategy.
How many players can join?
The game supports any number of players for exciting battles!
Each player brings their own deck and hexes, then all hexes are combined and shuffled together into one shared hex pile. Players draw from this hex pile as they explore the Crypt!
A group of 2-6 players is optimal, but more is possible.
Are there expansions planned?
Yes, new hexes and cards will be added to keep gameplay fresh. We hope to be able to release one set per year.
Where can I buy the game and accessories?
You can purchase the game and extras through our website and select retailers. Please note the game is only available in the US right now, but we want to make it available to an international audience as soon as possible.
Was AI used in the art?
In short, yes: AI tools were used for some images, though not all.
In an effort to be totally transparent, we want to make this information available, because we are aware that it is a very important consideration for some, and we want to make sure everyone is able to make an informed purchase.
We wanted to bring the game to production despite our very small budget. In order to make the game affordable and accessible to a wide audience, we used nearly all our resources to manufacture the game at the best rate and quality we could and were additionally impacted greatly by tariffs.
The first edition of Crypt, released in 2001, featured commissioned artwork for every hex, but the cards had no images, and this was a significant shortcoming that we wanted to improve for the second edition, to bring the game to life for players.
All the original artwork (30+ images) remains, and some new art has been commissioned, but with 170+ images required, we used AI image tools to help create much of the card set.
We are in contact with a talented young artist who we will be paying to create new hand-drawn illustrations for the next print run to replace all AI, and we will be allocating a significant amount of our sales revenue to this new art. If we are successful, we intend to pay for a full-time in-house artist. We greatly respect and are committed to supporting the creative industry and artists, but we need your support.
Our community has been extremely positive about the images and the game overall despite our situation, for which we are very grateful. We only wanted to increase the visual appeal with our limited resources. We understand if you decide this is a hard line for you, and we respect your position.
Our community of players, fans, and creators is the vital lifeblood of our mission and purpose, and we are doing all of this for all of you, and for the love of gaming.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
